Effects of Globalization on Terrorism; Addressing Africa’s Predicament

Globalization, no doubt has had positive impacts on Africa, but why the emphasis has been concentrated on the positive aspects of those dimensions or by-product of the phenomena, the negative side to globalization and those defining characteristics of it tend to be glossed over and their implications for national and international security are barely touched upon in passing. While terrorism has been fingered as a major threat to Africa’s development with its security challenges and implications, the role of globalization in the spread of terrorism in Africa cannot be swept under the carpet.

This is the philosophical background of this paper which tends to x-ray and elucidate the effect of globalization on terrorism in Africa. This paper shall also answer questions on what factors make globalization injurious and contributory to the growth of terrorism in Africa, how to tame terrorism and, how these factors can be addressed to free Africa from this predicament with respect to the global change. Keywords; globalization, terrorism, development, Africa and effects.
