Against the backdrop of increasing culture hate, racism, ethnicism, violent religious fundamentalism and other forms of blind and unreflective conservatism in our world today, there is global seething search for peace and security. Despite the robust trouble-shooting and educational campaigns of such United Nations organs as the Security Council and UNESCO, blind conservative ideologies and their concomitant evils gained unsuspected and unprecedented force and frequency since the 1990s.
The pogroms in the former Yugoslavia, Burundi, Jos (Nigeria), and Norway have remained awful milestones of this unfortunate cultural reversal of our contemporary civilization. This paper posits that these resurgence conservative ideologies and their concomitant moral evils constitute a deadly challenge to mankind’s hard-earned multiculturalism.
Using philosophical analysis and exposition, this paper posits that multiculturalism is a product of philosophical rationality and concludes that these conservative ideologies and their concomitant evils can be checked by, making philosophical rationality a popular global culture through educational programmes in our institutions of learning.
