ACCEPTANCE INTO COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ABROAD.
A lot of students applying for admission into foreign universities often wonder why their application was turn down. One of the reasons why your application may be turn down is “college selectivity”. However, there are many ways you can check your admission statues even before applying to know if your application will be accepted or not. Sometimes, schools and colleges evaluate applications, based on how competitive their college is and also the location of the applicant. When it comes to selectivity, colleges and universities fall into four (4) main categories:

1.       Non Selective
2.       Less selective
3.       Moderately Selective
4.       Highly Selective

Usually these universities do not require much from their students most online universities fall into this category
Less Selective Colleges:
Less selective colleges usually demand more from their students. Your acceptance into the universities is determined by whether the college has availability? And if you’ve met the college's basic requirements. They may not require language Test from you or may wave language test if you can write a good Motivation letter
Moderately Selective Colleges:
Moderately selective colleges, which are the category most colleges fit into, have stricter standards than less selective colleges. These colleges and universities look at the following:
·      TOFEL, SAT, GRE, GMATS, IELTS ETC.
·         Transcript of previous studies
·      Letters of motivation/ Essays
·      Letters of Recommendations (if requested)
·      Application fees

Very Selective Colleges:
 Very selective colleges evaluate students on all above-named criteria and more. Very selective colleges scrutinize every aspect of a student's high school experience. Many applicants that apply to very selective schools are already strong academically. Factor such as your personal statement and transcript are critical.

·      Alumni Relationship
·      Application Questions and Essays
·      Completed Courses
·      Counselor and/or Teacher Recommendations

·      Grades
·      Grade Point Average
·      Major and/or College Chosen
·      Personal Interview
·      Rank in Graduating Class
·      Special Talents and Skills
